What kind of news coverage in U.S. did the 1993 violence in Mumbai get?

Pascha asked:

A current news story says that the recent violence was the worst since the “serial killings” of 273 people in Mumbai in 1993.
But I don’t remember hearing about that at the time.
Was that covered in the U. S. media?
Or is there very little coverage of widespread events of terror overseas when Americans are not involved?

When was the last time you were ENCOURAGED or PLEASED by what you read/watched in the news? What was it?

For me, it was to read this morning that USC lost handily to Oregon State last night. Maybe now my friends in southern California will shut the hell up about how unstoppable the Trojans are. Probably not though.

But regarding politics or world events, I can’t remember the last time I finished watching a news program or reading the newspaper and thought to myself “life really isn’t so bad” or “things are looking up!”
