Auto repair maintenance and it’s importance

One thing a lot of people are unaware of is how important your car’s maintenance is.Wel don’t really value how important these cars are that we use to drive around in.We don’t even seem aware that our safety is at risk whenever we go out. Plus they don’t realize our car’s safety is on the line whenever we drive.  So here are the top 2 auto repair jobs for your car.

First off it is important for the overall health of your car to always do tuneups. What I am talking about is making sure your car is on schedule for regular tuneups.  As mentioned your car’s are big investments. If you don’t make an effort to care for it you are in danger of ruining it.  I have seen many clients ruin their vehicle and take it into my auto repair San Diego shop after the fact.  I see that if they had just performed some routine maintenance, the problem may never have happened.

Another reason for regular tuneups is you have your car running cleaner. With such a strong emphasis to cleaner air through cleaner emmissions it is really important.Because what will happen is if you don’t care for your car you will have a good chance of failing a smog check.  I have seen older cars that when taken care of pass with flying colors in my smog test San Diego shop by doing regular tune ups.I have also witnessed the opposite way as well.Cars that didn’t have regular care are usually the ones that will fail.

Finally a very important part to your car is the brakes. But most people don’t even give it a second thought most of the time.  By neglecting your brakes and not maintaining it you risk bigger repair costs.  In my San Diego brake service I see cars have expensive brake repair jobs because they didn’t do simple maintenance. By doing some regular checking of their brakes.  Or having it checked regularly they could have saved a lot of money.

Will one Airline take over the rest?

October 29th, 2009
Comments Off

All of the worlds airlines combined have lost a total of almost 4 billion pounds (7.6 billion dollars). Airlines are struggling to keep up with the recession, leaking massive amounts of cash. So how are they going to cope, well quite simply some of them won’t be able to.

On the 2nd of September 2009, Sky Europe was the next airline to announce it’s bankruptcy. They basically told everyone that everything had to come to a halt, no more flights, even for those already on holiday. Now they are all stranded on holiday if they went with Europe Sky. They are all expected to find their own way home, as the airline has ceased flying. So now they must await their insurance company to pay for a return flight, or they will have to get their own.

But what is this all leading towards? Can we wait to expect all the airlines to just fail. Their current performance doesn’t look too good at all. However we have only been hearing about the airlines that have made losses, does this mean that the quiet ones are not doing quite so badly? What about Virgin, they haven’t been kicking up much of a fuss. In fact they appear to be interested in joining up with another airline.

Could this mean that in thirty or fifty years, there will be one world wide airline? Could it be possible that another airline could takeover all of the failing ones. If there was one airline across the world would this improve the situation? The only problem is that if one airline controlled the skies, it would be a massive responsibility; it almost feels like a step towards world domination.

You can check for transmission problems at home

October 29th, 2009

One auto repair for your car that is very expensive is doing some transmission repair. It is a huge part of your automobile.Making sure to care for it is important.By making sure your car is taken care of you will save yourself a little bit of money.  Since you can’t fix it yourself here are some ways to check it at home.By having some of the checking done at home you can see if it needs to be brought in.

First off since I own a Vista auto repair shop I know how expensive transmission repairs can be.  So I always tell my clients to check a couple of things first.  This way they can make sure they need to come in.First thing they can check is the fluid.  The fluid should be clear.  If it is black or dark that is a sign of a problem and they need to take their car in.

Second thing they can check at home is to check the gear shifting.  You do this by moving your gear from park to drive.Or you can shift it from park to reverse.  What you are looking for is for the gears to shift smoothly. What you hope doesn’t happen is a jerking motion. If you notice that there is jerking, this is a bad sign that there is a problem with your transmission.  In my La Costa transmission repair shop this is one of the big signs of transmission problems.A bunch of cars that were taken in have this problem.

Finally you can check for any leaks of your transmission fluid. This is something you can check with your dipstick. But you won’t be able to tell unless you do this checking regularly.  I advise all my customers in my La Costa auto repair shop to always check your fluids.  People are familiar with checking for oil.But their transmission fluid is something they need to check also.  This way they can tell if their fluid is leaking.

If you perform these steps on your car you are making sure your transmission stays in good condition.

The Challenges For A Homosexual Couple To Begin Their Family

October 28th, 2009
Comments Off

Do you think a gay couple should be able to have children and raise a family? What if they are financially secure and in an established gay relationship, perhaps even legally married? I do not know your answer to this question but I am willing to bet that whether you are gay or not, you have an opinion on the matter.

Just as there are heterosexual couples with the desire to become parents, there are also many thousands of gay couples who yearn to start a family in the same way. The drive for parenthood naturally affects people whether they are gay or not. However, gay couples have to confront other people’s perceptions in a way that heterosexual couples do not.

It is generally considered perfectly normal for a heterosexual couple to want to have a family. If they have been together long enough they are often questioned why they don’t have children yet. A heterosexual couple can easily go for help if they face issues of infertility.

The matter is a little easier for a lesbian couple than a homosexual couple because there exists the possibility for one of the lesbian partners to biologically conceive herself. Many lesbian couple tackle the problem with artificial insemination with the aid of a donor sperm or they can go for IVF treatment in which theirs or a donor egg is implanted after being fertilized outside of the body.

Homosexual couples have fewer options. They may choose to opt for surrogate motherhood in which a woman elects to bare the child on their behalf. She can be inseminated with the sperm from either partner. Otherwise, a gay male couple must go for adoption which poses a mountain of challenges especially other people’s preconceived ideas.

Change is on the Horizon for the Dental Care Industry

October 28th, 2009

gum disease

Change is right around the corner. There are many things on the horizon. For example, they can regrow teeth if there is any root left alive. It has been done in a lab. But when will it be commercially available? Who knows?

Gum tissue can be grown in the lab from the patient’s own cells. This saves the need to grab donor tissue from the roof of the mouth or some other area. Again, we have no idea when we will see this commercially.

Unfortunately, many people are suffering from gum disease and receded gum tissue. Some even have loose teeth. It is important for people to understand that almost all of the time, but not always, this is going to be due to the presence of gum disease. Prevention is better than cure and that is why you may wish to shop for a hydrofloss.

Ask almost any dentist or especially periodontists, they will all tell you that most people have problems with their gum health. What I find perplexing is why dentists don’t mention this more often to their patients. Some dentists will simply allow a problem to get worse until it reaches the point of needed a Scaling and Root Planing. If interested in prevention, you may wish to buy a hydrofloss.

This, in my opinion, is not the greatest service to the patient. Humanity is cruel. Many dentists know that what I am saying is true. Please don’t misunderstand, there are many good dentists. I just wish there could be some behavioral or attitudinal changes out there. Patients deserve the best.

I understand the frustration of doctors. Perhaps they believe they are wasting their time when they spend it educating the patient. Perhaps there are other reasons. Whatever is going on in any specific practice, I hope that the focus can shift more towards what is best for the patient – even when the patient has no idea about what is going on. Some buy oramd.

What happened to the age old idea of doing good for goodness’s sake. It isn’t necessary for anyone to realize that you have done them a good deed or not, just do it. If we all operated that way regardless of what place or station in life we occupy, wouldn’t the world be a better place?
