September 30th, 2010

Constables Mobility are a company based in East Sussex who specialise in modifying vehicles to make them wheelchair accessible. They’ve quickly become one of the most highly rated and respected companies working with disabled vehicles in the UK and should without question be considered if you’re looking for a WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle).

Founded by Mr. David Constable, who was first approached to attempt a conversion designed to allow a van to properly accomodate a wheelchair in the latr 70’s, before going on to release the internationally acclaimed Car Chair in the very early 1980’s. They were also the first of two companies to be included in the Motability Scheme in 1987, which they are still a major part of to this day.

There are numerous reasons for the rise in popularity of Constables Mobility, but one of the major factors would have to be their extremely high quality disabled vehicles as well as the amount of time and thought they put into every single conversion and modification. The team will look at numerous factors before initiating a new vehicle conversion, trying to provide the most practical, user friendly and well thought out WAV’s on the market.

They’re extremely forward thinking too, always looking to convert vehicles that were previously unobtainable to disabled drivers or passengers, in such a way that is practical for everyday use. Recently, Nissan won the accolade of ‘best motability supplier of the year’, thanks in part to this innovation from Constables. Nissan were particularly coveted for their Nissan NV200 WAV, which was first converted by the team at Constables. The company also have a range of vehicles they convert as standard, with the Renault Kangoo being a particularly good example of the quality of Constables’ conversions.

Constables also recently partnered with specialist insurance group FISH Insurance; who provide insurance cover to disabled drivers. The insurance firm were recently named ‘best car insurance provider for disabled people’, demonstrating just how seriously Constables take their obligation to their consumers.

If you’re looking for a WAV, disabled vehicle or want to discuss your motibility needs, you can visit the Constables website at www.constablesmobility.com or give them a ring on 0844 88 00 218.

The Green History Of Green Environmentalism

September 30th, 2010
Comments Off

What is green? It was once a color, but nowadays The Green Movement can be described as a historic environmental revolution. The green movement in North America has a long history that goes all the way back to the days of the eighteen-thirties and 1840’s once philosophers of the time started bringing to light the harmful environmental effects attributable to the activities of governments, commerce in addition to society as a whole. With the commencement of the industrial revolution and ever mounting evidence of a serious problem at hand, the green movement commenced to grow in popularity.

After the 2nd World War, a greater knowledge of ecology began to grow in the collective consciousness of the general public. One of the primary factors was the population explosion that was taking place on the globe. Popular intellectuals commenced to put out works that drew attention to increasing pressure on the planet’s natural assets on account of human activities. Through the 1950’s, sixties as well as seventies, events such as greatly publicized gigantic oil spills in England and Santa Barbara, people from Japan exposed to radioactive substances caused from irresponsible tests of the H-Bomb, nuclear proliferation as a whole, images of our planet from space, and and entirely new government agencies intended to guard the environment critically increased public awareness.

In our day, public consciousness of the green movement has reached a record high. The growth of social media has improved communications and the exchange of information and ideas like never before. Climate Change has taken center stage and motion pictures such as Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth have assisted to cement this problem in our social consciousness. Even now, as the world blows up to a population of 7 billion human beings, a number of the planet’s most brilliant scientists are warning that if considerably more is not done, human kind itself faces extinction.

Professor Peter Barrett, a respected New Zealand scientist recently acknowledged “After 40 years, I’m part of a huge community of scientists who have become alarmed with our discovery, that we know from our knowledge of the ancient past, that if we continue our present growth path, we are facing extinction,” Barrett said. “Not in millions of years, or even millennia, but by the end of this century.” The reasons for Barrett’s statements are a result of the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of 1000 scientists from one hundred countries and can be viewed at http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/114245/index.php .

None of us like to hear this news. However it’s becoming clear we all require a broader sense of urgency. Therefore what will you be able to do to go green? It all starts with individual way of life. Recycle everything you can. Adopt an organic food diet. Obtain an electrical car or hybrid sedan otherwise eradicate your automobile and develop a more simple life. Use green bags, instead of disposable plastic or paper bags. Make a choice to only do business with corporations who are truly making an effort to go green and decrease their carbon footprint. Inside of a capitalist country, how you elect to spend your money is as important as voting on a candidate on election day. Giving a payment to a corporation, is akin to saying I approve of your business activities. Create a blog and educate and encourage people by way of your writing and enlighten them on the subject of what you’re taking action on in your individual days to go green. Be a pioneer for the green movement. You’ll genuinely be a part of history.

3 Ways To Successfully Plot A Course To Less Expensive Background Checks

September 29th, 2010
Comments Off

It is rather rare for banks and other large organizations to hire outsiders to do background checking on staff for them. Most times they have their own human resources departments that do the ground work and come up with the results. Those who employ PIs or police records cannot afford to pay continuous salaries for the same functions. They are smaller businesses.

The introduction of the Internet has made it easy to do a world of things. Background investigations on latent personnel are no exception and you can now do it much more easily with a service like Inteligator. You could search for details and records about them using their names and social security numbers. If they have a criminal record, even one as small or trivial as a parking ticket, you’d likely find it.

When lives of citizens are at stake, you want to be careful the kinds of people you employ for a job. When their means of livelihood is in question, you have to make doubly sure. This is why many companies, especially banks, do detailed background checks on the people they employ. As if those people are dealing with sensitive forex historical data then hiring a bad apple could end up costing you a lot of money. They could use the police or other qualified personnel, but they simply have to get the job done.

People lie about their age, their school grades, their relationships. People even lie about their sex; why should there be any question about if they lied about their past? It is something you as a potential employee should understand and anticipate. And it is why you should have a team ready to check up on the applicants that you have so that they can substantiate their declarations.

Falsified records are a dime a dozen. You could get them on the corner of just some street or even off of the Internet for a small fee. Curiously, the same Internet provides means of corroborating or contradicting these claims. If not, you could contact the police to help you out, or you could use a PI. Whatever the case, you don’t want to hire someone without some background checking.

Background checks help to reduce employee theft and dishonesty. This was proven extensively by the results of surveys carried out in the United Kingdom over recent years. Billions in pounds and Euros were recorded stolen in fraudulent acts by employees, specifically in the early 2000s, due to laxness in security and employee integrity. However, this trend has dropped notably since measures have stepped up to ensure that those who do not qualify both in character and qualification for a position do not get it. And just like getting affordable auto insurance is a good idea if you drive a car, it is also a good idea to get regular background checks if you are in business.

One good thing you would get with a good background check policy is increased productivity at lower cost. To begin with, the ineptitude of unqualified staff is discarded, hence reducing overall expense; plus, now that you have people who can really do the job, and you are rest assured of on-time delivery.

Smaller firms will sooner consult police records to do background checks than hire a PI or employ permanent staff for the job. The police records are basically available to the public for little or no fees, as is most information on the Internet, which is what makes this approach rather friendly. Other means are considered too expensive, and only larger establishments tend to be able to afford them.

First Lady Travels To Spain For Villa Stay

September 27th, 2010
Comments Off

Michelle Obama arrived in Malaga yesterday along with her youngest daughter for what I expect is actually a well deserved break. Air force two was the plane behind the flight and if you did not know what this is it is the call sign used by any aircraft carrying the vice president or the first lady. The plane usually behind this is a 757 that has been modified so a C-32. Back to the whole point of the article I think.

luckily for the first lady she is staying at one of the top 30 hotels in the world which is 5 stars. They have actually reserved around 60 of the rooms due to the fact the First Lady is bringing friends as well as the massive security staff that are always needed to be with them at all times. So it is clear that the first lady loves her villas in Spain but I am not too sure that the people that are living in the town are best pleased about the visit as things are pretty tough around the town when it comes to security.

so much work has actually taken place in the town and things like roads have been cleaned up a lot. This sounds like something that is great but a lot of people living in the town have been asking for it for ages.

I would really appreciate it if someone with the power like that visited my town and if the council did something about the town in the process then it would be a massive bonus!!

First Lady Michelle Obama is also going to be meeting with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia Of Spain in their summer palace on the island of Mallorca (somewhere I holiday quite a lot).

So there you have it, if you fancy a villa stay look for those Spanish villa images and choose somewhere!

Up To Forty Percent Of The Afghan Economy Is Based On Drug Trade?

September 26th, 2010
Comments Off

The voice on the radio suddenly forced its way into my conscious awareness. Absolutely staggering, I felt it deep in my gut with no uncertainty.

Forty Percent of the Afghan economy is from illegal drug production and trafficking. More disturbing is the fact that the United States has nothing that can replace the drug trade for Afghan entrepreneurs.

As I contemplated these hard hitting statements, I found myself imagining how different our world could be if we just stuck to some basic tenants of common decency.

Yet, what does this say about our world, where such an obscene industry can thrive?  It’s not just the growers and traffickers that are contributing to the problems, but the users of the end product. Those users ultimately feed the entire industry’s cash flow.

Recovery from this influx of drugs, because they are much stronger, is not the same as your average teenage experiencing marijuana withdrawal symptoms. These drugs can cause serious problems for the addict, sometimes resulting in death!

Considering the Afghan drug problems alongside illicit drug trade around the world, there has to be an incredible amount of drug users to support the global market for drugs. Why? Is it really about the high, or is it about escaping the sober realities and pain of human life? It seems that we never hear anyone talking about this aspect. Life is often painful. Whether you are poor or rich, there are all kinds of problems and challenges that we human beings face.

How appealing a drug addiction and the escape it provides must be to the user. In some ways, it may even be understandable. There are so many problems and concerns to escape from. It is not like an American who’s biggest problem is to figure out what works best for home teeth whitening.  Those ads are hilarious, aren’t they!

Facing life and its challenges head on is NOT for the timid. Problems can range from the simple, such as trying to get rid of gingivitis, to the more complex – as in trying to feed a family of 10 on wages that are very small. It is easy to see how someone would be tempted to turn to the drug trade!

But, we are all faced with life nonetheless and there is no escaping that for the rational and sober minded person. Sure there are moments of pleasure that provide temporary relief but how long do those moments last?  How long before the next problem rears up to block our path arrives?

For some, the moments of pleasure and happiness last longer and not so long for others.  That may be related to a whole host of factors including socio-economic ones.

So what can we do? Not much as it turns out, for a simple reason. It is a fact of our very existence that free will exists. Each person makes his own choices. More laws won’t change what people do when they think that they can’t be seen.

Perhaps a greater degree of personal happiness and contentment would prove to be more attractive than the lure of drug use. As you may have heard, “history tends to repeat itself”. And why is that? Maybe the human condition doesn’t really change that much, only the scenery and technology change, while the basic conditions of human life stay about the same throughout the ages.

If that is true, and similar conditions existed in the past, how were they dealt with back then? One of the western world’s most revered philosophers was Socrates.

Socrates talked about virtue. He discussed things like Truth, Beauty and Goodness with his students. Today, Master Li Hongzhi expounds on Truthfulness, Compassion and Endurance. Perhaps contemplation of these things can bring greater contentment and personal happiness?  With happiness and contentment, there may no longer be as strong a catalyst for feeding a drug addiction.

One thing is fairly certain. Due to the existence of free will, only each individual can choose for himself the path he wishes to tread.
