4 Fun Craft Suggestions For Recycling Plastic Soda Bottles
In order to find use for old plastic soda bottles, you can consider using them to create a feeder for birds, a sea life bottle display, a goblet-shaped candy container or an Easter-themed basket.
If you happen to be among the many individuals interested in finding ways to use old and apparently useless objects, you may be interested in the following craft suggestions for soda bottles made of plastic in different sizes. From compact, handy things like wallet inserts to distinctive home decor, there are many things you can do to reuse plastic soda bottles. Here are some creative recycling projects you can consider:
A bird feeder
Nature enthusiasts will enjoy this recycling project for soda bottles. Get a transparent 1-liter soda bottle, a craft knife, wooden spoons, an eye screw, some string and some bird seed. First, clean the transparent 1000 ml size bottle and use the cutter to carefully cut out diagonal holes on opposite sides. The openings should measure half an inch. Insert wooden spoons through the holes; the spoons will serve as perches for the birds. Place bird food into your bottle and stick in the eye screw into the bottle cap so that you could slip in a piece of string for hanging the feeder.
A miniature ocean life display
A sea life bottle display will captivate kids and let them know the beauty of both sea life and recycling. You will need a 2000 ml plastic bottle, vegetable oil, blue food coloring, water, silver glitter, aquarium decorations, seashells and some glue. Take off the label from the plastic bottle and pour water in it and ensure that it is filled only up to the first half. Fill the second half with vegetable oil. Add a bit of blue food coloring to mimic the ocean and mix in a few of the silver glitter. You can now add plastic aquarium decorations just like plastic plants, fish toys and seashells. Ensure that the bottle cap is screwed tightly by gluing it.
A goblet for candies
Young children who love magic-themed objects will find a candy goblet recycled from a plastic bottle both handy and delightful. Get the following: plastic bottle, a cutter, craft adhesive and various accessories for decorating. Cut off the bottom of the plastic bottle. Then put some craft glue on the top opening of the bottle and attach it into the middle part of the base to make a goblet form. You could put on embellishments such as plastic jewels on the surface to make the goblet appear more fascinating. Fill the holder with sweets such as gumdrops and other sweets.
An Easter-themed basket
This colorful craft idea is great for Easter time. Get the following things: a clean, 2-liter plastic bottle, some masking tape, a puncher, a pipe cleaner, glue as well as some Easter-related decorations. The first step would be to cut off 4? from the plastic bottle to form the basket’s base. Apply masking tape over the cut edge to smoothen it. Punch holes on opposite sides of the basket using the hole punch. Put a long pipe cleaner in the openings to make a handle. You may then glue on different embellishments that represent Easter such as stickers or recycled colorful paper cut into rabbit shapes or eggs. Lastly, fill up the basket with artificial grass or painted Easter eggs.
In addition to being practical, these craft projects can be great for teaching children the importance of recycling.
