John Bolton Thinks Israel Only Has A Couple Of Days To Get The Bushehr Bombing Over With
Controversial former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton claims that Israel has a three-day window in which to bomb Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant before it becomes fully functional, reports Agence France-Presse. Iran would end up with a lot of radiation and harm if Israel waited until nuclear fuel was loaded to the plant’s core. Conventional wisdom suggests that Israel will not strike Bushehr, but Bolton and those of similar mindset appear to be goading Israel toward war. Despite sanctions by the United States and also the European Union, Iran’s quest for nuclear power has continued.
Bolton thinks nuclear weapons will come from Bushehr
John Bolton, always known for his aggressive, irascible style, doesn’t mince words concerning Bushehr. Saddam Hussein would love it if this turns into a weapons factory like Bushehr thinks it will, reports AFP. The argument between Iran and also the United Nations is as such: Every person wants to know is the Middle Eastern nation hoping to get just a little more power and respect because of the fact they have nuclear power, or do they really just want a new nuclear weapons program brought forth? Nuclear weapons programs in countries like North Korea and Iran is what Bolton, now a senior fellow at American Enterprise Institute, has always concerned himself with. Numerous media sources like CBS News have accused him of having a “one-track mind” on the matter, and Bolton has been accused in the past by the liberal media of spinning intelligence to confirm his pronouncements, even when enough evidence was not present.
Bolton up for bombing a lemon
Bolton told the New York Times about how he disagrees with the way Obama treats Iran:
“There is no possibility the Obama administration will use force, despite its confused and ever-changing formulation about the military option always being ‘on the table.’… It is hard to conclude anything except that the Obama administration is resigned to Iran possessing nuclear weapons. While U.S. policymakers will not welcome that outcome, they certainly hope as a corollary that Iran can be contained and deterred. Since they have ruled out the only immediate alternative, military force, they are doubtless now busy preparing to make lemonade out of this pile of lemons.”
A Bushehr bombing would mean certain war, writes Foreign Policy magazine Israel and the U.S. have had a quite shaky and odd relationship. Every little thing changed with World War II when after Israel’s victory in 1967’s Six Day War, the U.S. was more on Israel’s side. The U.S. and Israel are de-facto allies, despite the fact that there isn’t a treaty really in place. Foreign Policy magazine explains that even though there is no “just or strategically sound cause for initiating the war,” for the U.S., the country would be involved is this war were to begin. This is maybe why John Bolton would love to see Israel do the job on its own. Even Bolton who’s all about war knows when to stay uninvolved considering the state of the United States military at present. If Israel does determine to do a quick bombing, does the United States think it can avoid the war really?
