LBDs For Every Body Type

July 25th, 2011

Many people think that a LBD is designed for the lucky ones who’ve been graced with an ideal figure. However, it’s a parable because LBDs can be gotten in a wide variety of cuts and styles that suit different body types. Here are some tips to pick the right LBD for your body type.

If you happen to have got a bottom heavy figure, then a LBD that skims over the lower half would be a good idea. You’d need a dress that is fitted until the waist and fuller skirts at the bottom. This may accentuate a slim upper body and hide heavier hips and legs. Go in for fitted halter and corset dresses having a flowing silhouette. But, if you do not like this outline, then slimming down your lower body is the sole option that you have. Walking on the treadmill everyday will help you tone down flabby legs and thighs.

Have you got flabby arms? Do not be concerned because in which case too you can dress chic in a LBD. No, you don’t need to look all matronly for this one. Go in for dresses with embellishments and peek-a-boo cutouts. Dresses with moon like cutouts at the back are a superb idea. You can also go in for sheer sleeves. They hide flabby arms, while still giving some definition to your body.

Now let’s rap about ladies who’ve got a petite frame. Do they have a choice in LBDs? Naturally they do. You should go for positively structured fits and should avoid dresses with flowing profile as they won’t suit your body frame. Select dresses that have tons of textures like a tussle at the bottom. If you do not have an ideal figure, you shouldn’t go for cutesy details like giant bows or puffed sleeves. On the contrary, choose bandage dresses that may look great on your body.

Plus sized girls too can enjoy the charm of a LBD. Because you have the structure of a robot and lack curves, does not necessarily mean that you cannot wear a LBD. Most and sized ladies make the mistake of opting for highly fitted dresses that cause them to look even frumpier. The basic idea is to go in for a dress that is structured and is yet not fitted. Look for details like one off shoulder, to up the sexiness.

If you have wide shoulders then too you could wear a LBD. Go for dresses for asymmetrical necklines or one off shoulders. These details will help balance out the body. Puffy sleeves and dresses fitted at the bottom are not for you. They might enhance the wide shoulders even more.

Hence now do not ever believe that you don’t deserve to wear a LBD. Because, you can!
