What makes one successful and one fail in sports

Sports and succeeding in it is a funny thing.  You can have a superb athlete who can’t find success. Then you might have someone who is average at best yet becomes super successful. At first glance you can’t seem to explain it.  But upon a closer look you see the main reason for success and failure has been the mind.  But why is that?  In this article we shall take a look into that.

So how come the mind is so important in sports?  As a San Diego sports psychology I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.First thing you have to realize, the stereotype that thinks of athletes as dumb is far from the truth.Athletes are really some of the smartest people around. And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.

Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger managementcounseling practice.A lot of times they get this anger because they failed in sports. But what I have been able to do is help people to turn it around. The way to really help them is to show them how failure begins within the mind.  By learning how to use their mind effectively they can achieve tremendous success. It has proven itself over time many times.

Once an athlete becomes aware and understands how powerful the mind is, they can become successful.  Most of the time they can achieve tremendous success.  It is like most things in life. The mind is so important when it comes to taking action and getting results.I take notice of this not just with athletes but also see it in families.  The family therapist San Diego practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success.Success in being able to deal with any family struggles that happen. In life as well as in sports the key to most things is your mind.

Being a better player due to sports psychology

One of the unique thing about sports is the mental aspect of the game.We have witnessed countless times athletes who have enough gifts to succedd in sports but failed miserably. Usually the reason was in their mind. Most of the times an inferior athlete was able to defeat them because the physically inferior player had a stronger mental attitude.  This is where sports psychology comes in. It can teach athletes that to reach their maximum potential abilities they have to attain the right state of mind first.

In my San Diego sports psychologist practice I have seen athletes turn around their performance by applying some mental conditioning.  An athlete who was struggling in performance was able to turn around their results.  This was a direct result of applied sports psychology.

So there are two ways that psychology can help.  It can help in the mental aspect of their on field performance.Their concentration and realxation can also be aided by this.

So as part of my San Diego family therapist practice there are many people who come in wanting to reach that peak performance. Their performance has shown a remarkable improvement when the techniques were applied.Of ocurse there are some cases which turned out to be unsuccessful. But almost all of the cases has been successful.

It may seem strange but sports psychology also helps teens. And not necessarily in regards to sports. The adolescent years provide circumstances that are similar to trying to succeed in sports.  So this has helped teens in my anger management San Diego services as well.

If you are seeking to improve your performance in sports maybe this is what you need.  Because a lot of times it isn’t the athletic ability but the mental ability that will help a person succeed.  You can have the best athlete physically. But if their mental strength is lacking, so will their performance.Success in life can be mostly credited to mental ability.

Anger management counseling and the big reasons for needing it

One of the unique things about being alive is our emotions.  As human beings we have been blessed with getting to experience powerful emotions such as love, joy, happiness, etc.But there is a few emotions that aren’t as positive but just as powerful.  Things such as sadness, depression, and anger.

One of those powerful emotions is anger. It is so strong it is really dangerous in some people.  It is this issue we need to examine and learn how to deal with.  This is coming from my experience dealing with anger through my practice of anger management counseling.

There a few options in dealing with issues of anger. But what I would like to focus on is why it should be dealt with.Such as the results that can happen with uncontrollable anger.

Well for those drastic cases of anger, it can cause violent outbursts of anger a lot of times. Often something like anger in it’s uncontrollable state can cause very violent acts with your loved ones.A person who might be simply wonderful and loving towards their family, can suddenlyl turn violent and angry towards those same loved ones.We have all read stories where there was some sort of crime of passion.  Most of the time that passion was anger. If your anger seems violent sometimes and sometimes uncontrollable, that is the time you should go and seek anger management counseling.

Sometimes even depression can lead to anger management issues and that is when you need to seek depression counseling.

Anger is definitely not something you want to leave unchecked if it does cross over into the violent.

There are the instances of anger being less violent, but sometimes it can be just as harmful. Such as getting upset and angry over small things which causes you not to think properly.  This could affect relationships. It could hurt your job.It could hinder your performance with a lot of
tasks.Anger like in that form can actually hinder your judgement greatly.  As mentioned, less violent, but still something you have to deal with.

By confronting your anger through counseling you can dramatically cause your quality of life to improve.  You can improve relationships, job performance, and many other things.

Not dealing with something like anger can cause many harmful effects.Effects that were avoidable happen if caring and effective counseling was not applied.  I know and have seen it firsthand through my practice as a therapist San Diego.

Don’t let anger and it’s emotional outbursts get the better of you.It can be helped and treated.
