Why the right painter is a must

One of the most treasured assets we will ever own will be the homes we live in.I am not meaning the financial part of it.  That is a big part of it.But what I am referring to is the very fact that this is your personal home.  It is the place you live in.It is the location of your family growing up.It is where you will have plenty of fond memories.

With that being how it is, obviously people are going to take great care for it.From home improvement jobs, to just keeping it tidy and in order.  One of the biggest things a family can do to their home is paint it.  I know it is a big deal to families from my experience running my own San Diego painting contractor company.

With that in mind it is important to hire the right painting contractor.A good painter can make all the difference in the world.  And when you are dealing with one of your most valuable assets, I am sure you would agree it is important.

So what is it that makes a painting contractor good?  Well from my experience painting San Diego it is a few things.

First, they have to be reliable.  Nobody wants to hire somebody you can’t even rely upon to get the job done right. From having things done in a timely fashion.  To showing up to work everyday.Hard to comprehend, but there will be a few people who you can hire that you
just can’t rely upon.

Second is the person an artist at heart.  You might think what does this have to do with anything. I say plenty.  Of course I am biased considering my crew of painter San Diego are like artists.Reason I mention this is because you do not want
somebody who just slaps paint on the walls.  You want to find someone who treats the job like a work of art.

If you are able to find a person like that, you will be in for a treat. A simple paint job can turn a drab room into a beautiful vibrant room. You can transform that old house into one that is model home quality.

Finally, you want to hire somebody that really takes care in the work that they do.How willy you be able to tell?  Easy, just interview contractors. You will be able to see just who is out for the money between those that reall want to serve you and do a good job. Those that have that attitude of service you can trust to do a good job.

Follow these few steps and you will hire a good contractor. You won’t be let down.

One of the easiest ways to improve not only the look but the value of your home is through painting.  Even though it is easy, it is one of the best home improvements you can do. In this tough economy, anything that can improve the value of your home is going to be worth pursuing.

So follow these 6 easy steps to make sure you paint your house right.  These steps come from my experience in being a painters San Diego.   So it should be beneficial and of use to doing the job correctly.

Owning a painting San Diego company has helped me prove these steps over and over again.  So follow these steps and witness your home turn into a beautiful home and it’s value improve greatly.

First thing you want to do is prepare the surface.  Unless your house has been through a war, there shouldn’t be too much preparation.  All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.

Second step in the process is priming.  This is an easy step and the object is to make sure the primer you use is tinted as close as possible to the finish color.  This makes the job of applying the finish color much easier.

Third step is a surface preparation step once again.  This step is used to make sure you haven’t missed anything from the first go around.  Things like nail holes, or dents and blemishes you may find in the wall.  You are going to be using a drywall compound to have those holes filled.

Fourth step is to apply the first coat of paint.  With this step you want to brush one surface wall at a time.

Fifth step is going to be another surface preparation type of step.  You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint.  Once again, any imperfections you find can be fixed with a drywall compound.

Final step will be the application of the second coat of paint.  This is going to be the best part because your hard work will now all come together for you to see.  So once more, you are going to paint one wall surface at a time.  Ensure that the coat is evenly distributed.

Follow all these six steps and you will be pleased with the outcome of your home improvement.  A simple coat of paint can change a drab room into a beautiful addition.

With the cost involved in doing a simple room paint job, your return on investment will be huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple paint job can adds tens of thousands of dollars to the value of your home.

Painting Your Home as an Investment not an Expense

In this time of economic uncertainty, most people have to cut back on expenses. One of the big things they won’t do is home improvements.

In a great economy, home improvements are all over. Contractors are happy and busy with work. But when the economy gets bad, you can see it in the contracting business.

But I would like to mention that when you paint your house in this economy, it is actually a great use of your money.  I should know living in San Diego where you can definitely feel the housing slump, painting San Diego houses definitely helps.

Let’s take a look at some reasons why.  Two angles to consider are if you plan to sell the house and if you plan to keep it.

If you have plans of selling the home, doing some house painting is a wise move economically. With the housing crash, and falling prices of homes, most homes will not sell fast.  The ones that do sell are the ones that look the best.  Buyers are picky and they wait for what they want.

Well if you invest in hiring a painter, this will actually not only improve the value of your home it also makes it look better.  A house that looks clean and beautiful will obviously sell much faster than a house that you didn’t improve.

So by getting that professional painter to make your house look good in and out, that expense actually turns into a good investment.

Now if you don’t have any plans on selling, what are the benefits of painting? Homeowners always want a nice house to live in. In a bad economy with less spendable cash, painting is often a reasonably inexpensive home improvement
I have seen this first hand as a painter San Diego.

A brand new coat of paint turns your old house into a house that looks like new. Do it for the outside of your house as well as the inside and you have a more pleasant place to live.

When you are unable to afford spending on a room addition, painting offers a great alternative.

When a remodel of the kitchen or bathroom is not affordable, a fresh coat of paint makes that room look like new.

In these bad economic times, most of the time you aren’t going to be able to do what you want with your home.  Hiring painters San Diego contractors gives you that flexibility to still improve your home with little costs.

Important Tips When House Painting

July 25th, 2009

The most popular project for a lot of homeowners
is painting their house.  A lot of people enjoy do it yourself projects around the house. To them, doing a little painting of the house seems easy enough.

If that is you, I would like to offer as a Painter in San Diego.  My years of experience hopefully will help you avoid the disasters and messes that can occur when you take on a project like painting your house.

First, you want to make sure the correct type of paint is chosen with the right paint color.  Sounds like this goes without saying, but a novice may not know the difference in picking paint for an exterior vs. paint for interior.  Thankfully a lot of home improvement companies have helpful staff to help you out, just like my staff of my San Diego painting company.

Second, is preparing the paint.Surprisingly, the biggest part of your paint job is not actually doing the painting, sometimes it is the preparation.

The time you put in to really preparing will come through in a quality paint job.

So the room you are painting will need to be cleaned out.A room that is cleared makes it real easy to do a good job of painting.

Also, you need to clean the surface when you prepare.  Don’t think just because you are going to paint over everything, the paint will cover it all.  A dirty wall with stains or more will make it harder for the paint to cover.  This will save you time and money when it is clean because you will need less coats of paint.

Third thing you could use is sandpaper.  Sandpaper will allow you to smooth out any rough surfaces which will help you have a smooth coat of paint.

Fourth, a caulk gun you will need. All walls are far from perfect. It could have cracks on the wood base or trim.A caulking gun will help cover things up and make the surface smooth.

As you can see, these tips are all designed to help make your painting job go well.It removes the hassle of things getting in the way.Or having to fix a wall that has blemishes and would need to be painted over.  All designed to make your job easier.

Do all this and not only will you be pleased in the outcome but a good quality job will add value to your home.

Now if it becomes apparent that this job is too much to handle, especially when you think about the fact your home value is on the line. Give your local painting San Diego company a call.
