Glory For Spain In The World Cup

September 16th, 2010

This year World Cup was finally won by Spain. People always used to say Spain are one great footballing nation who has never won big tournament 3 years ago. 2 years ago they won their 1st Euro Championship and this year they have beaten Holland to win the World Cup. Spanish fans, if you are reading this then send flowers online to your national team in Spain. This is a great effort from the team and all Spanish fans should be behind them enjoying this historic moment. This year has definitely been Spain’s year.

Spain did not have a great start to the tournament after they were beaten 1-0 by Switzerland in the first group game. Then from the second game they started playing a bit better and winning. Spain have always a good passing side and with players like Villa, Torres, Xabi, Alonso and Iniesta on the side you are bound to pay good football and start winning games. They finished top of their group even after losing the first game and then played Portugal at the first knock out stage. Many thought it was going to be Spain biggest match of the tournament but at that stage it was yes but they beat Portugal and moved on.

In the quarter finals they faced Paraguay. Paraguay in the quarters was a tough game for Spain, they had chances but couldn’t score till Villa stepped up and scored but it wasn’t easy because Paraguay had their chances to level the match but Spain rolled onto Semi Finals. Semi final against Germany was a very chess type match. Spain played neat passing with quick movements and Germans were the tournaments top scorers. Carlos Puyol thumped the header in from the corner to take Spain to their first ever World cup finals. In the final Spain beat Netherlands by Andres Iniesta’s brilliant goal.

This was Spain’s year so send all sorts of colourful wedding flowers, celebrity flowers to congratulate your team just make sure they are not funeral flowers.

Can England Finally Do It In South Africa?

This year’s World Cup is being hosted in South Africa and many are saying Spain, Brazil, Argentina and England are the favourites. I definitely see Brazil and Spain being the favourite but I question the other selections of the bookies. Brazil and Spain have always been known for their passing and movements and the fast pitches in South Africa will definitely suit them. As soon as you play long ball you can see that the ball is skids through and there is no way anyone can catch it.

England do have a passing game but I am not sure why they don’t play their normal game when they start playing. The problem England have is they get too defensive after they score a goal, there is no confidence in the team to go get another or just to keep the ball. After scoring they just tend to go on long ball mode and expect someone like Defoe to hold it, it he plays of course. This is not going to work in these pitches in South Africa.

Argentine do not have the similar type of team from 1986 but they are still a very strong side. Though they do have a genius called Lionel Messi. He was a bit unlucky not to score in the first game because the Nigerian keeper has an outstanding game but Messi was by far the best player in the pitch. If Argentina can play like they did in 1986 then Messi can take the role of Maradona and they can definitely do well in this tournament. Who know what can happen?

I am a amateur online poker player and for the World cup I have given playing poker till the tournament lasts and back England. In the past I have won few full tilt poker & PKR poker tournaments so I am an addict when it comes to online poker but I shall be giving it up for a month till the World cup finals.

With more and more people gambling these days, there are more reported cases of gambling Addiction then ever before. The most important thing to remember is just because their life is not horrible because of their gambling does not mean there is not a problem, many people can have serious gambling addictions and still hold down a job and make it seem as if everything is fine. This just means that this person has not hit a bottom yet, but eventually it will catch up with them. Most gamblers with bad addictions usually wind up jobless and in many cases homeless if their addiction is allowed to go unchecked for too long, and studies have shows that people with gambling addictions are more prone to illness because thy allow their health to lapse. For more information on gambling addiction talk to your family doctor or look on the internet for the gamblers anonymous web site, or from one of the many internet web sites dedicated to helping gambling addicts to locate professional help in their area.

Most addicts will stop socializing with anyone not into their addiction, so if suddenly someone you know cuts out all their friends from their life and starts to isolate themselves this can be a sign. A big sign of gambling addiction is someone who is constantly having money problems and asking to borrow money but never pays it back, but sometimes out of nowhere this person will seem to have large sums of cash. Lying and stealing is another good clue to a gambling addiction, they will make up all sorts of excuses for their odd behavior, and you may notice small, but expensive items missing from your home. Without help gambling addiction leads to the same place as drug addiction or alcoholism, eventually they will be overcome by their addiction. Race to the right ferry

The future of Formula 1 racing in the UK looks to be increasingly bleak.

Donington, the intended venue for 2010’s UK Formula 1 race, is in economic difficulty – the most news-worthy last month when the track’s owner began legal proceedings, against the race promoter, for unpaid rent of more than £2 million.

The race at Donington will only go ahead if the substantial £100 million refurbishment of the course is completed by March 2010, the race’s prospects certainly seem in jeopardy.

F1 CEO, Bernie Ecclestone, has said on various occasions that if the Donington race circuit is not finished, the race will go elsewhere. And Bernie has made it clear that he means another country, not a different UK-based course.

That would bring an end to the Great British Grand Prix which, along with the Italian stage, is the longest running Grand Prix stage.

Race enthusiasts can still watch the British Touring Car Championship, MotoGP and A1GP, race fans may have to look further afield for a big event steeped in history.

The Le Mans endurance race ticks that box, with an with a relaxed mood and over 80 years of racing predigree. The race already attracts thousands of British race fans every year to watch racing throughout the day and night.

Of course the only problem is that the race is in France. However, travelling is quick and easy, with various Plymouth channel ferries making the trip every day.

So despite the disappointment of the Great British Grand Prix apparently disappearing into the history books after 2009, there are many events to keep race fans entertained.

For those looking to the past the UK is famous for classic, veteran and heritage shows across the country in England, Scotland and Wales so there is no shortage or cars to view although not moving as fast as F1
