Where do you want to go for your Christmas holiday? Well two holidays have really been standing out, and it looks as though they will be the most popular this year. Many people believe that Skiing holidays are Christmas holidays because of the setting that they are in. Skiing holidays are not just Christmas holidays; they don’t all happen around the winter time. Because of the climate around the world, you can go skiing somewhere at almost any time of the year.

Remember that we are talking about luxury Christmas holidays as well. Although Skiing holidays are considered to be quite luxurious, they pale in comparison to these two. What’s strange for Christmas time is that these two holidays are in the Caribbean, one of the hottest locations in the world.

St Lucia holidays are on the rise this Christmas, and so much so that flights have almost been completely consumed already. In fact you need to search for luxury holidays to find a spare seat. But the advantage of this is that there are some truly amazing offers available. The weather in St Lucia is going to be very warm this December as well, with only a small amount of rain.

Barbados holidays provide anyone visiting this Christmas with a vibrant and exciting Christmas holiday. This is a holiday for those that want to have an up-beat and exciting Christmas. One that will last through all hours of the night and for those that like to party all night long. The Barbadians are great at keeping any tourist entertained and the way that they achieve this is by taking you out to all kinds of parties and clubs. Christmas is a time of celebration in Barbados, and a massive one at that, parties and late nights all around. You can even find a holiday in Barbados, a full package deal for less than a thousand pounds.

Are beach holidays good for your health?

Sea air has received the general thought that it is fantastically good for you and that smell is a sign your lungs are filled with freshness, but how good is it for you? Let’s start with the good points to going on a beach holiday, and why it is good for your health, then we can make a decision later…

What’s better than going to the beach and having a good swim? Swimming is supposed to be the best exercise form for you; it gets every muscle working together, and your heart will get pumping blood at a constant rate. Swimming forces your heart to work harder but not to over do it, this helps you to get a good amount of exercise even while you are playing in the sea. Swimming in the sea is good for your skin and promotes skin healing. Levels of salt are high in the sea and help to cleanse acne and tidy up permanent scars.

The sun is also good for your skin (in small doses). The sun helps us in a big way, it gives off Vitamin D in rays of light which can help fight against skin cancer and multiple sclerosis.

If anything the one thing we can all agree on (as long as you have a good holiday) is that holidays are best for reducing stress levels. High stress levels can cause many different problems, heart disease and skin problems are the most common. Making sure that you dont get too stressed, will help reduce chances of medical problems. Being able to go on luxury holidays by the beach will relieve stress will help you to clear your head as well.

Now for the bad points, let’s say you were looking at Caribbean holidays for example. Everywhere you look there are beaches all around. The sun is going to be following you wherever you go. The sun isnt always good for you, in high amounts it can be very bad for you. We just get over-cooked if we stay in the sun too long, we have all done it at some point, then we notice skin peeling and run for a shadow.

In recent studies it has been shown that the sea air isn’t actually that brilliant for you. Although the air is cleaner than that, say in a city, it contains some interesting substances. Now don’t get all paranoid it’s not serious but it is worth noting. Over and around the sea is a substance called DMS (dimethyl sulphide), it’s released by animals and plants in the sea and irritates the eyes and mucous membranes (nose), and it is also that smell you detect when you are near the sea. Nitryl chloride is a second substance that was found by the beach and in the sea, it is a respiratory inhibitor, which means we find it hard to breathe but it is reduced in amount by the sun.

So are beach holidays good for you? If you make sure that you take care of yourself, then these holidays are great for you, relieving stress is key. The bad points aren’t really strong enough to deter anybody going to the seaside. So if you planning weddings abroad then go for it, swim in the sea and enjoy the sun.
