What makes one successful and one fail in sports

Sports and succeeding in it is a funny thing.  You can have a superb athlete who can’t find success. Then you might have someone who is average at best yet becomes super successful. At first glance you can’t seem to explain it.  But upon a closer look you see the main reason for success and failure has been the mind.  But why is that?  In this article we shall take a look into that.

So how come the mind is so important in sports?  As a San Diego sports psychology I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.First thing you have to realize, the stereotype that thinks of athletes as dumb is far from the truth.Athletes are really some of the smartest people around. And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.

Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger managementcounseling practice.A lot of times they get this anger because they failed in sports. But what I have been able to do is help people to turn it around. The way to really help them is to show them how failure begins within the mind.  By learning how to use their mind effectively they can achieve tremendous success. It has proven itself over time many times.

Once an athlete becomes aware and understands how powerful the mind is, they can become successful.  Most of the time they can achieve tremendous success.  It is like most things in life. The mind is so important when it comes to taking action and getting results.I take notice of this not just with athletes but also see it in families.  The family therapist San Diego practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success.Success in being able to deal with any family struggles that happen. In life as well as in sports the key to most things is your mind.

What you can do when your relationship falters

One of the best things we get to experience in our lives is relationships.  From experiencing family relationships to love relationships it is wonderful. But a few times good relationships can turn bad. What was once considered something of great joy and happiness is now a source of pain and heartache.

I have seen this first hand helping people in couples counseling San Diego. What used to be a great loving relationship turns into a constant battle. What once looked so beautiful and promising now has a very grim outlook.  What happened and what can be done to change it?

That is a big question and hard question to answer.  Every relationship struggle is different.  But my experience as a marriage counselor San Diego has shown me there are methods you can use to bring out good solutions.

One of the things that is helpful to them is by giving them a safe place to talk.  A lot of times trying to deal with their struggles at home just doesn’t work.  By giving them a place where they can feel safe allows the opportunity to work things out.

Another benefit for the couple is that extra person will be another ear to hear them out.But not just any old ear but an ear that will listen and be impartial.  An ear that will listen to the issues and address them impartially.Accomplishing that can work miracles. That third person can mean the difference because they can approach the issue without being heated. When a couple attempts to do it while they are in the midst of fighting it won’t work at that time.

One more thing that can help the couple is teaching them how to effectively listen to one another.  In my practice doing marriage counseling San Diego, I help them develop these skills. These skills are beneficial in helping them listen to one another rather than always attempting to be the winner in an argument.

In doing this, they are really in a position to face the issue head on. Accomplishing these few tasks can work wonders in a troubled relationship.  I have seen it first hand as a marriage counselor.

Anger management counseling and the big reasons for needing it

One of the unique things about being alive is our emotions.  As human beings we have been blessed with getting to experience powerful emotions such as love, joy, happiness, etc.But there is a few emotions that aren’t as positive but just as powerful.  Things such as sadness, depression, and anger.

One of those powerful emotions is anger. It is so strong it is really dangerous in some people.  It is this issue we need to examine and learn how to deal with.  This is coming from my experience dealing with anger through my practice of anger management counseling.

There a few options in dealing with issues of anger. But what I would like to focus on is why it should be dealt with.Such as the results that can happen with uncontrollable anger.

Well for those drastic cases of anger, it can cause violent outbursts of anger a lot of times. Often something like anger in it’s uncontrollable state can cause very violent acts with your loved ones.A person who might be simply wonderful and loving towards their family, can suddenlyl turn violent and angry towards those same loved ones.We have all read stories where there was some sort of crime of passion.  Most of the time that passion was anger. If your anger seems violent sometimes and sometimes uncontrollable, that is the time you should go and seek anger management counseling.

Sometimes even depression can lead to anger management issues and that is when you need to seek depression counseling.

Anger is definitely not something you want to leave unchecked if it does cross over into the violent.

There are the instances of anger being less violent, but sometimes it can be just as harmful. Such as getting upset and angry over small things which causes you not to think properly.  This could affect relationships. It could hurt your job.It could hinder your performance with a lot of
tasks.Anger like in that form can actually hinder your judgement greatly.  As mentioned, less violent, but still something you have to deal with.

By confronting your anger through counseling you can dramatically cause your quality of life to improve.  You can improve relationships, job performance, and many other things.

Not dealing with something like anger can cause many harmful effects.Effects that were avoidable happen if caring and effective counseling was not applied.  I know and have seen it firsthand through my practice as a therapist San Diego.

Don’t let anger and it’s emotional outbursts get the better of you.It can be helped and treated.
