Did you know millions of people volunteer in Tanzania every year? Volunteering overseas has become very popular over the past 20 years. Volunteering in Nairobi is a particular current favourite amongst volunteers. There is no doubt that these destinations have prospered because of there location and also the infrastructure. These cities within Kenya & Tanzania and politically stable and have a lot to offer the tourist or volunteer. Nairobi for example is in a prime location in Kenya to access all the major attractions. It is the hub of East Africa and is also the main starting point for most of the regions safari tours.  This plays massively into the hands of the visitor as their project is based in a great location and the volunteer has great access to the facilities and the attractions of the region.

Volunteers obviously want to make the most of their adventure to Africa by seeing the beauty of the landscape and the different cultures within it. This all needs to be taken into account when they choose a location to volunteer in. The main reason for the volunteer travelling to Africa in the first place is to work in their desired field, whether this is teaching children or working with HIV/AIDS orphans.

As more and more regions are becoming accessible to many people, volunteering is becoming more diversely populated. People are now opting to travel to more remote areas to experience a different kind of adventure. These people are not looking for the glitz and glamour of the other attractions of the country but solely intent on dedicating all their time to the project of their choice. The opens up the volunteer spectrum widely.

Wherever it is you decide to travel, volunteering is a one of experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life, a well worth while trip to take. Not only is it a great experience but also sets you in good stead for the future.
