What To Expect When You Travel To Kenya

October 12th, 2011

Kenya is located in East Africa and is known as the ‘cradle of humanity’. Kenya is one of Africa’s top tourist destinations and really is a spectacular country. It doesn’t really come as a surprise as Kenya is home to over 40 National Parks including the Masai Mara which is perhaps one of the most famous National Parks in Africa. It is also home to over 42 different tribes and languages. It is a very diverse country with a spectacular landscape and is home to some of the best wildlife in the world.

Many people these days go on Kenya Safaris for a couple of weeks a year with the sole goal to see as much wildlife as possible all over the country. With over 40 National Parks you really do have your work cut out for you trying to figure out which parks you want to visit and why. With the parks come some amazing choices of accommodation including the Campi Ya Kanzi. Most people when they go on safari will choose one of the many Kenya lodges to stay in. The accommodation in and around the National Parks are some of the best in the world.

Kenya has a tropical climate receiving a great amount of sunshine all year round. The coastal region of Kenya including cities like Mombasa have a hot, humid climate all year round and the north of Kenya is mostly desert so it receives little rain and temperatures can soar to over 40 degrees in the summer.  The best weather is in the rift valley and the cities including Nairobi & Nakuru where the weather is a lot cooler and peaks at around 30 degrees in the summer.

Most people heading out to Kenya on a safari will more than likely land in the Kenyan capital Nairobi which is the start and finish point for most safaris in the country. It is a great city and you can plan all your trips throughout Kenya from Nairobi.
